Hey, I'm a college student here and It's a a small town city with about 12,206 people. Poverty rate is 2.3%, which is pretty low. Average temperature is around 56--F, so the weather is moderate. Median household income is $148,558, which feels pretty solid for the area. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Am I wrong here? Thanks for reading. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The weather takes some getting used to. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value food scene, you'll love it. The school system is genuinely pretty good and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. My neighborhood (The Heights) is manageable and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Pittsburgh, be prepared for the culture shock. outdoor recreation is completely different here. And Limited high-paying job options.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I've lived in Cedar Grove for about 15 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from Miami, I was surprised by housing market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Four distinct seasons
- The dating scene scene is surprisingly good
The downsides:
- Limited shopping options
- Far from beaches/mountains
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for couples. Feel free to reach out with questions..
