Anyone else feel this way? Just moved here 15 months ago and Homes are going for about $57,000 on average. The unemployment rate is 9.6%, which is concerning. The median home value here is around $57,000, which is actually reasonable. Household incomes average around $55,066 in Rosebud. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Looking forward to hearing from you all. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. I'm a accountant and I've found the quality of life is solid. The community is challenging and there's always something going on.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are surprisingly good, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.
I've been here 13 years and the quality of life is solid. The thing nobody mentions is traffic. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the cultural scene is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is tough.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Pine Hills side vs the East side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Feel free to reach out with questions..

Used to live on the The Heights side, now on the North side. Completely different vibe. it's not perfect but it works for me.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. it's not perfect but it works for me. Compared to San Francisco it's pretty good.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a physical therapist, 43, moved here 6 years ago from Salt Lake City. I've lived in Pine Hills and Springfield, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Great outdoor activities nearby
2. Low crime in most neighborhoods
3. Diverse dining options
4. The people are generally underrated - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Urban sprawl is real
2. Chain restaurants dominate
3. The safety situation is growing and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Pine Hills: Great for young professionals. decent vibes, walkable.
- Springfield: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Salt Lake City, everything felt underrated. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are manageable. Gas is competitive. You can live comfortably on $100K-$110K here.
**Final verdict:**
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

It's not for everyone but it works for us.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
