OK so Rent is about $1,015/month for a decent place. You can expect to pay around $1,015 for rent here. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The suburbs are where most families end up. The weather takes some getting used to. What would you do? The city has invested a lot in new development. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The suburbs are where most families end up. My experience has been mostly positive. I have mixed feelings honestly. The only thing I'd watch out for is outdoor recreation. Other than that, Definitely worth checking out..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Dallas about 4 years ago. The main reasons were work and work.
Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Active local events and festivals
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Winters are long and cold
Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are established, gas is tough.
Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Definitely worth checking out..

Weather-wise, the summers are tough and winters are pricey. You get used to it after the first year.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I have mixed feelings honestly. Internet is average in most areas.

Hot take but it was the best decision I ever made. I know a lot of people disagree but after 4 years here, that's my honest assessment.

I've lived in Downtown for about 9 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Boston, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Strong job market in several industries
- The healthcare scene is hit or miss
The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Can feel isolated
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for remote workers. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
