Thinking about relocating to Rosedale from Dallas

Hey everyone, I'm a 38-year-old data analyst and The median home value here is around $594,000, which is pretty steep. Crime rate is something to consider -Rosedale sits at 266.9 per 100K. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Let me know your thoughts. Any help is appreciated. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The city has invested a lot in new development. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The suburbs are where most families end up. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem pretty good.

I've been here 8 years and it's not perfect but it works for me. The thing nobody mentions is cost of living. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the public transit is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is decent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The East side vs the Meadowbrook side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Hope this helps!.

I've lived in The Heights for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from Baltimore, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Lots of new development happening
- The healthcare scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Homeless population growing downtown

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for retirees. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Pine Hills for 8 years. Moved from LA for a job opportunity. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is tough. We bought in 2021 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. The market is competitive but not impossible.

**Employment:**
tech is strong here. marketing is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are wild for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I have mixed feelings honestly. The outdoor scene is tough - we have lakes within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Pine Hills schools are decent. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Chain restaurants dominate. Far from beaches/mountains. And nightlife can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For remote workers, I'd say this is a 9/10. Give it a chance - it might surprise you.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a sales manager who relocated here from Baltimore about 15 years ago. The main reasons were family and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Close to major attractions

Cons that are real:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Chain restaurants dominate

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are wild, gas is excellent.

Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Feel free to reach out with questions..

I've been living here for 9 years and I'd say it's exactly what I was looking for. The nightlife is decent compared to other places I've lived. Overall Definitely worth checking out..
