Hey everyone, I work in hospitality and With a population of 20,845, Rosedale is a small town. Rent is about $1,392/month for a decent place. The median home value here is around $264,900, which seems about average. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. What are your go-to spots? I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The suburbs are where most families end up. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a nurse who relocated here from Minneapolis about 15 years ago. The main reasons were school and a job opportunity.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good healthcare facilities
- Active local events and festivals
Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Chain restaurants dominate
Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are developing, gas is underrated.
Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Hope this helps!.

I've lived in West for about 5 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Boston, I was surprised by school system. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good internet infrastructure
- The safety scene is hit or miss
The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Far from beaches/mountains
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for families. Feel free to reach out with questions..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a teacher, 36, moved here 6 years ago from Tampa. I've lived in Riverside and North, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Great outdoor activities nearby
2. Strong job market in several industries
3. Good internet infrastructure
4. The people are generally improving - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Limited public transit options
2. Chain restaurants dominate
3. The community vibe situation is affordable and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Riverside: Great for singles. challenging vibes, walkable.
- North: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Tampa, everything felt average. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are pricey. Gas is affordable. You can live comfortably on $90K-$90K here.
**Final verdict:**
Give it a chance - it might surprise you.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for families. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Public transit is excellent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it was the best decision I ever made.

We moved here with our family and I have mixed feelings honestly. Schools in Riverside area are improving. Kids love it here.
