Living in Roselle -the reality

Been meaning to ask this. Median household income is $82,967, which feels pretty solid for the area. The unemployment rate is 5.4%, which is about average. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

We moved here with our family and it's been a really good experience overall. Schools in The Heights area are pretty good. Kids love it here.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Atlanta and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Lakewood. It's average for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in marketing. If you're in legal you might struggle.

People: Generally improving. It took about 9 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: decent. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Public transit is tough here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it exceeded my expectations.

As someone who grew up here, the quality of life is solid. A lot has changed in the past few years though. healthcare used to be much affordable but now it's solid.

I've lived in Midtown for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Phoenix, I was surprised by public transit. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- The school system scene is surprisingly good

The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Homeless population growing downtown

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for retirees. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Hot take but I'm still on the fence after all this time. I know a lot of people disagree but after 2 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Moved here from Houston about 15 years ago. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Still getting used to walkability but Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Fairview for 5 years. Moved from Portland for a job opportunity. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is pretty good. We bought in 2021 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.

**Employment:**
consulting is strong here. education is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are competitive for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The outdoor scene is average - we have national forests within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Fairview schools are pretty good. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Rising rent and home prices. Road conditions need improvement. And outdoor recreation can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For young professionals, I'd say this is a 8/10. Definitely worth checking out.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.
