Moving to Rosemead -what should I know?

Born and raised here. Crime rate is something to consider -Rosemead sits at 321.2 per 100K. Average temperature is around 66--F, so the weather is moderate. Rent is about $1,728/month for a decent place. The median home value here is around $729,600, which is pretty steep. Homes are going for about $729,600 on average. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Has anyone dealt with this? Any help is appreciated. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The suburbs are where most families end up. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The weather takes some getting used to.

I've lived in Maple Ridge for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from Phoenix, I was surprised by pet-friendliness. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Active local events and festivals
- The dating scene scene is pretty good

The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for couples. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Seattle about 9 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Decent public transit for the size
- Good internet infrastructure

Cons that are real:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Limited entertainment options

Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are developing, gas is pretty good.

Socially, the quality of life is solid. Happy to answer more specific questions..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's not perfect but it works for me. Internet is hit or miss in most areas.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is job market. it's exactly what I was looking for. Worth doing your research before committing.

Weather-wise, the summers are pretty good and winters are reasonable. You get used to it after the first year.
