Moving to Roseville for work — advice?

First post here. We're a young couple and Median household income is $117,354, which feels pretty solid for the area. The unemployment rate is 3.2%, which is pretty low. With a population of 152K, Roseville is a mid-size city. Rent is about $2,099/month for a decent place. You can expect to pay around $2,099 for rent here. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The weather takes some getting used to. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Am I overthinking this? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The city has invested a lot in new development. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a teacher, 40, moved here 3 years ago from Seattle. I've lived in West and Greenfield, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Good schools in most areas
2. Good healthcare facilities
3. Strong job market in several industries
4. The people are generally average - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Homeless population growing downtown
2. Bugs and humidity in summer
3. The school system situation is growing and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- West: Great for young professionals. underrated vibes, walkable.
- Greenfield: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Seattle, everything felt surprisingly good. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are stable. Gas is competitive. You can live comfortably on $80K-$100K here.

**Final verdict:**
Happy to answer more specific questions.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
