Top 5 things I love about Rossville

Hey, You can expect to pay around $1,017 for rent here. Average temperature is around 52--F, so expect cold winters. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a real estate agent who relocated here from Raleigh about 2 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and retirement.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Four distinct seasons

Cons that are real:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Homeless population growing downtown

Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are pricey, gas is improving.

Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from Dallas and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Downtown. It's better than expected for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in education. If you're in tech you might struggle.

People: Generally pretty good. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: solid. Tons of options if you like Mexican.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
