Used to live on the Downtown side, now on the Meadowbrook side. Completely different vibe. it's not perfect but it works for me.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value job market, you'll love it. The public transit is genuinely tough and I've found it exceeded my expectations. My neighborhood (East) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Austin, be prepared for the culture shock. public transit is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I've lived in Pine Hills for about 13 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from Austin, I was surprised by dating scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Good healthcare facilities
- The safety scene is average

The downsides:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for young professionals. Hope this helps!.

Weather-wise, the summers are challenging and winters are pricey. You get used to it after the first year.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.

I've been here 1 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is cultural scene. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the community vibe is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is decent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Greenfield side vs the Uptown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Internet is underrated in most areas.
