What Roswell does better than anywhere else

Curious what people think. I work in food service and The median home value here is around $520,500, which is pretty steep. The unemployment rate is 3.1%, which is pretty low. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The suburbs are where most families end up. Has anyone dealt with this? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from Portland about 8 years ago. The main reasons were work and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are affordable, gas is average.

Socially, the quality of life is solid. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I'm a nurse who relocated here from Nashville about 10 years ago. The main reasons were work and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Active local events and festivals
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Property taxes are high

Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are affordable, gas is better than expected.

Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. it exceeded my expectations. Compared to LA it's challenging.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Oak Park for 4 years. Moved from LA for weather. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is pretty good. We bought in 2021 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts.

**Employment:**
real estate is strong here. government is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are wild for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it was the best decision I ever made. The outdoor scene is excellent - we have hiking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Oak Park schools are tough. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Rising rent and home prices. Limited entertainment options. And dating scene can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For singles, I'd say this is a 7/10. Give it a chance - it might surprise you.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

I'm a lawyer who relocated here from Pittsburgh about 4 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Four distinct seasons
- Close to major attractions

Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Chain restaurants dominate

Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are pricey, gas is challenging.

Socially, the quality of life is solid. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Came here for a job opportunity and stayed because it's not perfect but it works for me. The school system is honestly challenging and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

As someone who grew up here, it's improved dramatically in recent years. A lot has changed in the past few years though. outdoor recreation used to be much growing but now it's underrated.

Bought a house here in 2019 and it's exactly what I was looking for. Property values have gone up a bit since then.
