What's it really like living in Rotonda?

Curious what people think. I'm originally from St. Louis and Rent is about $970/month for a decent place. With a population of 10,312, Rotonda is a small town. Poverty rate is 4.6%, which is pretty low. The unemployment rate is 0.9%, which is pretty low. Homes are going for about $340,700 on average. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Pros:
- Great weather
- Friendly people
- Growing food scene
- Close to nature
- Good airport connections

Cons:
- Traffic can be terrible
- Sprawl everywhere
- Lack of diversity
- Few job opportunities in some fields
- Not enough green space
It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The food scene here is surprisingly good. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The weather takes some getting used to. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Weather-wise, the summers are tough and winters are reasonable. You get used to it after the first year.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 12 years ago from Atlanta and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Sunset. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in education you might struggle.

People: Generally improving. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.

Hope this helps!.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Cedar Grove for 2 years. Moved from Phoenix for a job opportunity. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is average. We bought in 2015 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts.

**Employment:**
tech is strong here. government is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are competitive for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
the quality of life is solid. The outdoor scene is excellent - we have biking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Cedar Grove schools are improving. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Limited high-paying job options. Limited entertainment options. And job market can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For retirees, I'd say this is a 5/10. Would recommend to anyone considering it.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

As someone who grew up here, I love the pace of life here. A lot has changed in the past few years though. outdoor recreation used to be much wild but now it's underrated.
