Rotterdam quality of life -am I missing something?
Been meaning to ask this. Military spouse here. Household incomes average around $81,830 in Rotterdam. Poverty rate is 2.9%, which is pretty low. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Is this normal for Rotterdam? The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. My experience has been mostly positive. I love the pace of life here. The only thing I'd watch out for is nightlife. Other than that, Definitely worth checking out..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from Dallas and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in East. It's solid for what you get.
Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in government. If you're in real estate you might struggle.
People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: decent. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.
