Planning a move to Round Lake Beach -neighborhoods?

Hi all, My family moved here when I was a kid. With a population of 27,081, Round Lake Beach is a smaller city. The median home value here is around $191,200, which is actually reasonable. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The suburbs are where most families end up. Am I wrong here? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The city has invested a lot in new development. The city has invested a lot in new development. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The suburbs are where most families end up. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's not perfect but it works for me. The only thing I'd watch out for is dating scene. Other than that, Hope this helps!.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a chef who relocated here from San Diego about 13 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and retirement.

Pros I've experienced:
- Lots of new development happening
- Diverse dining options
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Dating scene is rough
- Limited entertainment options

Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are growing, gas is solid.

Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
