What I wish I knew before living in Round Lake Beach

So, Military spouse here. Crime rate is something to consider -Round Lake Beach sits at 146.9 per 100K. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Am I wrong here? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Compared to Phoenix it's better than expected.
