Freelancing from Round Lake Park -experience?

Hey folks, Born and raised here. Crime rate is something to consider -Round Lake Park sits at 27.2 per 100K. The weather takes some getting used to. Would love some local perspective. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is school system. I have mixed feelings honestly. Worth doing your research before committing.

Weather-wise, the summers are solid and winters are reasonable. You get used to it after the first year.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's not perfect but it works for me. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

The food scene here is better than expected. Tons of great Mediterranean places. it's been a really good experience overall.
