Commute times in Round Rock — how bad?

Curious what people think. I'm a college student here and Homes are going for about $383,700 on average. With a population of 124K, Round Rock is a mid-size city. Poverty rate is 5.2%, which is pretty low. Household incomes average around $97,187 in Round Rock. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Any advice would be great. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want job market, then yeah this place is great. But if nightlife matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are excellent, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's exactly what I was looking for. Feel free to reach out with questions..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from San Diego and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Springfield. It's hit or miss for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in real estate. If you're in finance you might struggle.

People: Generally solid. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Korean.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. I have mixed feelings honestly. Compared to Raleigh it's pretty good.
