Moving to Round Rock for work — advice?

Random thought, Military spouse here. Crime rate is something to consider — Round Rock sits at 124.3 per 100K. Rent is about $1,713/month for a decent place. With a population of 124K, Round Rock is a mid-size city. The unemployment rate is 2.6%, which is pretty low. Property taxes are high but you get good services. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The weather takes some getting used to. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.
