Not sure if this has been asked before, but Crime rate is something to consider -Rowland Heights sits at 128.2 per 100K. Homes are going for about $812,900 on average. Median household income is $85,202, which feels pretty solid for the area. Poverty rate is 9.2%, which is pretty low. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Thanks in advance! Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

My experience has been mostly positive. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The only thing I'd watch out for is safety. Other than that, Feel free to reach out with questions..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I have mixed feelings honestly. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from New York and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Lakewood. It's pretty good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in construction. If you're in government you might struggle.
People: Generally pretty good. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like Mexican.
Hope this helps!.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is public transit. it was the best decision I ever made. Worth doing your research before committing.

I've been living here for 15 years and I'd say I'm still on the fence after all this time. The nightlife is hit or miss compared to other places I've lived. Overall Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value safety, you'll love it. The traffic is genuinely hit or miss and I've found I love the pace of life here. My neighborhood (The Heights) is manageable and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Houston, be prepared for the culture shock. healthcare is completely different here. And Winters are long and cold.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
