Best coffee shops in Rowlett?

OK so Crime rate is something to consider -Rowlett sits at 128.3 per 100K. The median home value here is around $342,400, which seems about average. Homes are going for about $342,400 on average. It's a a smaller city city with about 64,139 people. The weather takes some getting used to. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The food scene here is surprisingly good. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The city has invested a lot in new development. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want food scene, then yeah this place is great. But if outdoor recreation matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a chef, 31, moved here 12 years ago from San Francisco. I've lived in Midtown and The Heights, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Low crime in most neighborhoods
2. Strong job market in several industries
3. Strong sense of community
4. The people are generally underrated - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Chain restaurants dominate
2. Dating scene is rough
3. The outdoor recreation situation is reasonable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Midtown: Great for remote workers. excellent vibes, walkable.
- The Heights: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from San Francisco, everything felt pretty good. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are established. Gas is competitive. You can live comfortably on $70K-$90K here.

**Final verdict:**
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I've lived in Oak Park for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from Dallas, I was surprised by public transit. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- The weather scene is challenging

The downsides:
- Can feel isolated
- Limited shopping options

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for retirees. Definitely worth checking out..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.

I've been here 15 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is cost of living. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the healthcare is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is pretty good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Sunset side vs the Greenfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Feel free to reach out with questions..

We moved here with our family and I'm still on the fence after all this time. Schools in Midtown area are improving. Kids love it here.
