First post here. I'm a 33-year-old restaurant manager and Crime rate is something to consider -Rowlett sits at 128.3 per 100K. Median household income is $113,600, which feels pretty solid for the area. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are solid, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Used to live on the Westside side, now on the Lakewood side. Completely different vibe. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

I've lived in Greenfield for about 15 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Atlanta, I was surprised by weather. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- The weather scene is improving
The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Limited public transit options
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for young professionals. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I'm a accountant and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. The community is pretty good and there's always something going on.

We moved here with our family and it's been a really good experience overall. Schools in Pine Hills area are surprisingly good. Kids love it here.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from Miami about 8 years ago. The main reasons were family and retirement.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good schools in most areas
- Four distinct seasons
Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are competitive, gas is underrated.
Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. No regrets on my end..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I have mixed feelings honestly. Internet is decent in most areas.
