Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a sales manager who relocated here from Boston about 2 years ago. The main reasons were weather and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Close to major attractions

Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Dating scene is rough

Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are affordable, gas is excellent.

Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. Definitely worth checking out..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem excellent.

I've been here 3 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is housing market. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the weather is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is hit or miss.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Pine Hills side vs the Westside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Weather-wise, the summers are underrated and winters are pricey. You get used to it after the first year.
