Crime rate is something to consider -Rowlett sits at 128.3 per 100K. Poverty rate is 5.7%, which is pretty low. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Looking forward to hearing from you all. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from New York and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Sunset. It's solid for what you get.
Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in retail. If you're in engineering you might struggle.
People: Generally decent. It took about 13 months to build a solid friend group.
