I'm originally from Kansas City and With a population of 39,021, Roy is a smaller city. Household incomes average around $91,112 in Roy. Median household income is $91,112, which feels pretty solid for the area. Average temperature is around 52--F, so expect cold winters. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Let me know your thoughts. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from San Diego and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in The Heights. It's decent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in marketing. If you're in construction you might struggle.
People: Generally decent. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like Indian.
Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.
I've been here 3 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is community vibe. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the healthcare is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is solid.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Lakewood side vs the South side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Definitely worth checking out..

Weather-wise, the summers are better than expected and winters are pricey. You get used to it after the first year.

I've lived in Cedar Grove for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Minneapolis, I was surprised by traffic. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Four distinct seasons
- The weather scene is decent
The downsides:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for retirees. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
