Worst things about Royal Oak nobody talks about

Hello, I'm single, late 20s, and Homes are going for about $305,900 on average. Should I be concerned?

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value cultural scene, you'll love it. The dating scene is genuinely decent and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. My neighborhood (South) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Chicago, be prepared for the culture shock. dating scene is completely different here. And Traffic during rush hour is rough.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Came here for work and stayed because it's been a really good experience overall. The traffic is honestly improving and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Moved here from Portland about 5 years ago. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Still getting used to cultural scene but No regrets on my end..

My experience has been mostly positive. I genuinely enjoy living here. The only thing I'd watch out for is cost of living. Other than that, It's not for everyone but it works for us..
