Raising a family in Royse City -thoughts?

OK so I relocated for work and Homes are going for about $288,400 on average. You can expect to pay around $2,108 for rent here. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Would love some local perspective. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

I've lived in Fairview for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from Portland, I was surprised by healthcare. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Strong job market in several industries
- The food scene scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for couples. Happy to answer more specific questions..

I work in hospitality here and it was the best decision I ever made. The job market for my field is better than expected. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
