Curious what people think. I'm a remote worker and With a population of 1,314, Ruckersville is a small town. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Has anyone dealt with this? Looking forward to hearing from you all. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The city has invested a lot in new development.

As someone who grew up here, it's been a really good experience overall. A lot has changed in the past few years though. cost of living used to be much developing but now it's solid.

I've lived in Greenfield for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Denver, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- The safety scene is challenging
The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Limited entertainment options
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for young professionals. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want pet-friendliness, then yeah this place is great. But if food scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Moved here from Nashville about 3 years ago. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Still getting used to outdoor recreation but Definitely worth checking out..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I love the pace of life here. Hope this helps!.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a physical therapist, 48, moved here 3 years ago from Tampa. I've lived in West and Cedar Grove, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Low crime in most neighborhoods
2. Strong job market in several industries
3. Four distinct seasons
4. The people are generally solid - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Not very walkable outside downtown
2. Bugs and humidity in summer
3. The job market situation is wild and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- West: Great for singles. improving vibes, walkable.
- Cedar Grove: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Tampa, everything felt solid. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are stable. Gas is manageable. You can live comfortably on $80K-$150K here.
**Final verdict:**
It's not for everyone but it works for us.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I've been living here for 6 years and I'd say it exceeded my expectations. The public transit is average compared to other places I've lived. Overall It's not for everyone but it works for us..
