Relocating to Runnemede, NJ -pros and cons?

So, Born and raised here. You can expect to pay around $1,383 for rent here. The unemployment rate is 4.8%, which is about average. The weather takes some getting used to. The city has invested a lot in new development. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in The Heights for 7 years. Moved from Chicago for my partner's job. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is better than expected. We bought in 2022 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. The market is competitive but not impossible.

**Employment:**
manufacturing is strong here. government is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are established for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's not perfect but it works for me. The outdoor scene is hit or miss - we have desert landscapes within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. The Heights schools are tough. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Winters are long and cold. Urban sprawl is real. And walkability can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For remote workers, I'd say this is a 7/10. Happy to answer more specific questions.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it was the best decision I ever made. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a nurse who relocated here from New York about 10 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Good airport with direct flights
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Not very walkable outside downtown

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are growing, gas is pretty good.

Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

My experience has been mostly positive. the quality of life is solid. The only thing I'd watch out for is traffic. Other than that, No regrets on my end..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Atlanta and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Highland. It's underrated for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in engineering. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.

People: Generally improving. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like craft beer.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Bought a house here in 2022 and I love the pace of life here. Property values have gone up significantly since then.
