Healthcare options in Rural Retreat?

Hey everyone, I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Homes are going for about $167,900 on average. Rent is about $778/month for a decent place. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value safety, you'll love it. The cultural scene is genuinely underrated and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. My neighborhood (Midtown) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Baltimore, be prepared for the culture shock. outdoor recreation is completely different here. And Can feel isolated.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Used to live on the South side, now on the Lakewood side. Completely different vibe. it's improved dramatically in recent years.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. it's not perfect but it works for me. Compared to San Diego it's solid.
