Why I chose Ruskin over bigger cities

OK so I'm a college student here and With a population of 30,074, Ruskin is a smaller city. Rent is about $1,593/month for a decent place. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The food scene here is surprisingly good.
