First post here. I relocated for work and It's a a small town city with about 22,224 people. The suburbs are where most families end up. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Has anyone dealt with this? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a HR manager who relocated here from Raleigh about 3 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and work.
Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good healthcare facilities
- Close to major attractions
Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Can feel isolated
Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are manageable, gas is improving.
Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Moved here from Houston about 11 years ago. I genuinely enjoy living here. Still getting used to nightlife but Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
