Rent in Rutherford getting crazy

So, I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Crime rate is something to consider -Rutherford sits at 243.6 per 100K. Average temperature is around 54--F, so expect cold winters. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Anyone in a similar situation? Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. I've lived in Westside for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Baltimore, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Lots of new development happening
- The healthcare scene is improving

The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Limited shopping options

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for families. Definitely worth checking out..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I genuinely enjoy living here. Internet is challenging in most areas.
