Thinking about relocating to Rutland from Chicago

OK so Military spouse here. With a population of 15,747, Rutland is a small town. Median household income is $55,000, which feels on the lower side for the area. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Any advice would be great. The city has invested a lot in new development. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Used to live on the Westside side, now on the Cedar Grove side. Completely different vibe. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

My experience has been mostly positive. the quality of life is solid. The only thing I'd watch out for is school system. Other than that, Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
