Rent is about $2,751/month for a decent place. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Tampa about 13 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and work.
Pros I've experienced:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Good airport with direct flights
- Lots of family-friendly activities
Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Property taxes are high
Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are stable, gas is decent.
Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. No regrets on my end..
