OK so I'm a 48-year-old project manager and Median household income is $130,839, which feels pretty solid for the area. Household incomes average around $130,839 in Sachse. It's a a smaller city city with about 29,075 people. Rent is about $1,807/month for a decent place. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Does this match your experience? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. We moved here with our family and it's exactly what I was looking for. Schools in Fairview area are excellent. Kids love it here.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want dating scene, then yeah this place is great. But if weather matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a electrician who relocated here from Salt Lake City about 7 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and weather.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Good internet infrastructure
- Active local events and festivals
Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Urban sprawl is real
Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are manageable, gas is challenging.
Socially, the quality of life is solid. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
