Been meaning to ask this. We have two kids and Median household income is $130,839, which feels pretty solid for the area. Household incomes average around $130,839 in Sachse. With a population of 29,075, Sachse is a smaller city. The median home value here is around $366,100, which seems about average. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Thoughts? The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

Used to live on the Oak Park side, now on the Downtown side. Completely different vibe. it's improved dramatically in recent years.

I've lived in Lakewood for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from Baltimore, I was surprised by job market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Diverse dining options
- The school system scene is hit or miss
The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Dating scene is rough
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for singles. Happy to answer more specific questions..

I'm a real estate agent who relocated here from San Francisco about 6 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and a fresh start.
Pros I've experienced:
- Four distinct seasons
- Affordable housing options
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Can feel isolated
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are stable, gas is tough.
Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Good luck with whatever you decide..
