Raising a family in Saco -thoughts?

So, I'm single, late 50s, and Rent is about $1,268/month for a decent place. It's a a small town city with about 20,636 people. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Any advice would be great.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are challenging, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

I've lived in Greenfield for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

the quality of life is solid. When I first moved here from Phoenix, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Good airport with direct flights
- The safety scene is solid

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Nightlife is limited

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for young professionals. Happy to answer more specific questions..

I've lived in Meadowbrook for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from Austin, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Good healthcare facilities
- The cultural scene scene is average

The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Not a lot of cultural diversity

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for retirees. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from New York and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Downtown. It's decent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in engineering you might struggle.

People: Generally tough. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like craft beer.

Hope this helps!.
