Just to add another data point - we moved from Boston about 11 years ago. Cost of living is {col_feel} compared to where I came from.. No regrets so far.

Great question. Here's my honest take after 11 years:

The good:
- Friendly locals
- Good schools in certain areas
- Safe neighborhoods

The not-so-good:
- Summers are brutal
- Water quality concerns

The airport connections are {adj} which matters if you travel.. I'd say for singles, Sacramento is excellent. Feel free to ask specifics.

Moved here from Seattle and I'd say The suburbs vs city debate here is real.. The nightlife here is great compared to what I'm used to.
