Curtis Park vs Roseville in Sacramento for renting?

Quick one -

I'm a 23-year-old retiree who's been in Sacramento for 5 years. Public transit is surprisingly OK - you'll want a car.

The weather averaging 61F year-round is {weather_feel}. I'm paying /mo for a 2-bed in Curtis Park and honestly makes me consider roommates.

Traffic has gotten noticeably worse in the past year. The suburbs vs city debate here is real.

Thoughts?

Born here, left for 10 years, came back. The community in {hood} is really tight-knit.. The city has shifted a lot.

I'll give you a thorough answer since I've been through this exact situation.

I moved to Natomas from Chicago about 5 years ago. Initially I missed home a lot. But after settling in, Public transit is {transit_feel} - you'll want a car..

A few things I'd recommend:
- Check out Natomas and Rancho Cordova for housing
- Explore beyond the popular neighborhoods
- Download the local transit app even if you drive

The biggest adjustment was food scene. Cost of living is {col_feel} compared to where I came from.. Overall I'd give Sacramento a 9/10 for young professionals.

Just to add another data point - we moved from Austin about 7 years ago. I've never felt unsafe walking around {hood} at night.. No regrets so far.
