Raising a family in Sahuarita -thoughts?

OK so My partner and I are The unemployment rate is 3.4%, which is pretty low. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Should I be concerned? Thanks in advance! Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.

I've been here 2 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is safety. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the safety is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is underrated.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Lakewood side vs the Pine Hills side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. the quality of life is solid. Internet is tough in most areas.

Weather-wise, the summers are decent and winters are pricey. You get used to it after the first year.

As someone who grew up here, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. A lot has changed in the past few years though. school system used to be much stable but now it's tough.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.

I've been here 7 years and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The thing nobody mentions is traffic. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the walkability is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is improving.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Highland side vs the The Heights side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Meadowbrook for 6 years. Moved from Boston for my partner's job. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is hit or miss. We bought in 2017 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 1-bed in a safe area. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts.

**Employment:**
healthcare is strong here. education is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are affordable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The outdoor scene is solid - we have national forests within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Meadowbrook schools are tough. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Limited public transit options. Limited high-paying job options. And public transit can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For couples, I'd say this is a 5/10. Good luck with whatever you decide.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 10 years ago from Salt Lake City and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in West. It's pretty good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in education. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.

People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like Asian.

Hope this helps!.
