What surprised you most about Sahuarita?

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from Seattle and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Riverside. It's average for what you get.

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in engineering. If you're in retail you might struggle.

People: Generally decent. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Thai.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.

I've been here 1 years and the quality of life is solid. The thing nobody mentions is pet-friendliness. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the healthcare is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is excellent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Lakewood side vs the The Heights side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

No regrets on my end..

I've lived in Eastside for about 15 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Denver, I was surprised by outdoor recreation. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Affordable housing options
- The school system scene is challenging

The downsides:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Limited shopping options

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for retirees. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
