Been meaning to ask this. I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Homes are going for about $113,400 on average. You can expect to pay around $898 for rent here. Median household income is $50,529, which feels on the lower side for the area. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Does this match your experience? It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The suburbs are where most families end up. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

Used to live on the Greenfield side, now on the Midtown side. Completely different vibe. it's not perfect but it works for me.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a real estate agent who relocated here from Austin about 2 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and a fresh start.
Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Decent public transit for the size
Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Limited shopping options
Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are reasonable, gas is underrated.
Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I've lived in North for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Phoenix, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Lots of new development happening
- The nightlife scene is pretty good
The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Limited shopping options
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for families. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Compared to Minneapolis it's hit or miss.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is nightlife. it's exactly what I was looking for. Worth doing your research before committing.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are tough, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a real estate agent who relocated here from Tampa about 9 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and cost of living.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Property taxes are high
Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are wild, gas is tough.
Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.
I've been here 13 years and it's not perfect but it works for me. The thing nobody mentions is cost of living. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the outdoor recreation is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is surprisingly good.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Greenfield side vs the The Heights side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
No regrets on my end..
