Best restaurants in Salem?

Curious what people think. Household incomes average around $50,250 in Salem. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Has anyone dealt with this? The weather takes some getting used to. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

I've lived in Springfield for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from Austin, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Four distinct seasons
- Affordable housing options
- The community vibe scene is improving

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Limited shopping options

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for retirees. Hope this helps!.
