Best neighborhoods to rent in Salem?

Hey everyone, We have two kids and Average temperature is around 53--F, so expect cold winters. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Anyone in a similar situation? Thanks for reading. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. it's been a really good experience overall. Compared to Nashville it's hit or miss.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it exceeded my expectations. Internet is better than expected in most areas.

As someone who grew up here, it's improved dramatically in recent years. A lot has changed in the past few years though. job market used to be much wild but now it's solid.

We moved here with our family and it was the best decision I ever made. Schools in Sunset area are decent. Kids love it here.
