Is Salem good for remote workers?

Been meaning to ask this. Household incomes average around $66,716 in Salem. Homes are going for about $244,800 on average. The median home value here is around $244,800, which is actually reasonable. It's a a smaller city city with about 25,477 people. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The suburbs are where most families end up. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Came here for retirement and stayed because it was the best decision I ever made. The walkability is honestly hit or miss and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Came here for weather and stayed because there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The safety is honestly underrated and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Hot take but I love the pace of life here. I know a lot of people disagree but after 10 years here, that's my honest assessment.

I'm a accountant and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. The community is surprisingly good and there's always something going on.
