Bought a house here in 2023 and it's been a really good experience overall. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

As someone who grew up here, it's exactly what I was looking for. A lot has changed in the past few years though. school system used to be much stable but now it's challenging.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a sales manager who relocated here from Portland about 7 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Can feel isolated

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are wild, gas is improving.

Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Hope this helps!.

Came here for school and stayed because I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The cost of living is honestly excellent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Hot take but I'm still on the fence after all this time. I know a lot of people disagree but after 8 years here, that's my honest assessment.
