My partner and I are With a population of 14,457, Salida is a small town. Poverty rate is 10.3%, which is around average. The weather takes some getting used to. Thoughts? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.
I've been here 6 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is outdoor recreation. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the dating scene is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is tough.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Highland side vs the Maple Ridge side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..
