Why I chose Salida over bigger cities

Alright, It's a a small town city with about 14,457 people. The median home value here is around $448,700, which is pretty steep. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Let me know your thoughts. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem solid.

I've been here 2 years and the quality of life is solid. The thing nobody mentions is outdoor recreation. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the healthcare is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is improving.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Lakewood side vs the Fairview side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
