Best restaurants in Salina?

OK so Just moved here 8 months ago and Crime rate is something to consider -Salina sits at 457.4 per 100K. Homes are going for about $164,500 on average. The suburbs are where most families end up. The food scene here is surprisingly good. What are your go-to spots? I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.

I've been here 2 years and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The thing nobody mentions is weather. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is better than expected.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Midtown side vs the Riverside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

No regrets on my end..

I've been living here for 2 years and I'd say I genuinely enjoy living here. The outdoor recreation is underrated compared to other places I've lived. Overall Would recommend to anyone considering it..

We moved here with our family and I genuinely enjoy living here. Schools in North area are better than expected. Kids love it here.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 7 years ago from San Diego and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Downtown. It's surprisingly good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in consulting. If you're in consulting you might struggle.

People: Generally decent. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like seafood.

Good luck with whatever you decide..
