Hey folks, My family moved here when I was a kid. It's a a mid-size city city with about 162K people. Rent is about $1,923/month for a decent place. Crime rate is something to consider — Salinas sits at 498.3 per 100K. You can expect to pay around $1,923 for rent here. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.
